La Salle Gràcia is part of the pedagogical innovation project “Aquí Prou Bullying” (No More Bullying) of the Department of Education.
We are committed to teaming up against school bullying and that everyone has the necessary tools to prevent, detect and act against possible cases.
This task is everyone’s responsibility and requires teamwork. In addition, it is also necessary for everyone to have the resources and knowledge necessary to contribute to building a community free from bullying.
What is #AquíProuBullying?
The #AquíProuBullying program is a pedagogical innovation program promoted by the Department of Education that promotes the participation of the entire educational community in the prevention, detection and intervention against school bullying. The students have a central role, as they act as observers and active agents in this task.
The main objective is to make the school a safe and suitable center for everyone.
Over the course of four years (2019-2022), a team made up of teachers and students from the Higher Cycle of Primary and Secondary Education receive training that provides them with the strategies and resources necessary to detect and manage possible bullying situations.
In addition, we work on coexistence with students of all stages, through awareness-raising and conflict management activities.
Goals
- Involve the school community in cases of bullying.
- Promote the active commitment of students in the prevention and detection of cases of harassment.
- Encourage the positive management of conflicts.
- Contribute to the personal and social development of students.
- Prevent possible situations of harassment in the educational center
- Detect, intervene and stop situations of school bullying.
Lines of work
The #AquíProuBullying program opens several lines of work that encompass all areas of the school:
With the educational community
In order to prevent and stop bullying, the entire educational community needs to be involved: teachers, students, families and non-teaching staff.
The #AquíProuBullying program begins with the formation of the Impulsor Team, made up of three teaching members, who receive specific training over the course of two years.
Apart from the driving team, we work to sensitize the entire educational community on the importance of preventing and eradicating bullying among peers.
With the students
Providing students with the tools and values necessary to build good coexistence dynamics is not only the key to forming a strong community capable of avoiding bullying situations; it is also a learning that will guide them towards a balanced adulthood, aware and committed to their environment.
Work with students focuses on:
- Raise awareness and involve students so that they can detect possible cases of bullying in the classroom.
- Provide tools and resources so that they are able to stop harassment processes through service actions.
The 5th and 6th grade students and all the ESO courses also have a specific program of activities that helps them understand, detect and act in this type of situation.
In these activities, boys and girls will work on the various areas of bullying prevention among peers:
- Approach to harassment
- Socioemotional skills
- Socioemotional skills
- Cyberbullying
- Safe use of social networks
- How to spot and stop bullying.
Work and intervention teams
Apart from the awareness and prevention work, we are in the process of creating three work and intervention teams, which will have specific training and tasks within the educational community:
reference group
The reference group is made up of members of the school community:
- A member of the management team
- A primary school teacher
- A secondary school teacher
- A representative of the families
- A non-teaching professional
- The Guaites 4th grade ESO team
The aim of this group is to participate in support and intervention tasks in cases of harassment.
In the case of harassers, the intervention will always be carried out by the teaching staff, the center counselor or the EAP.
6th Primary: Teams X coexistence
The 6th grade students receive specific training to become an “Equip X la Convivència”: a group involved and committed to improving coexistence at the school.
The Teams X la coexistence have the task of monitoring, detecting and stopping those actions that hinder relationships between equals and damage coexistence. Its main objective is to reinforce coexistence values and help build a foundation that allows to prevent potential situations of harassment. They are responsible for promoting positive conflict management strategies and restorative measures in order to prevent conflicts from becoming situations of harassment.
The functions of Teams X la coexistence are:
- Observe and detect situations that break coexistence and record them
- Be attentive to colleagues who need help because they feel insecure, excluded, threatened or assaulted
- Analyze conflict situations and make proposals for intervention.
4th grade: GUAITES community service
As part of the APS, 4th grade ESO students receive specific training from which the GUAITES team emerges, a group of students who will be responsible for ensuring the improvement of coexistence in the school
During the time they do community service in a practical way, team members will learn resources and strategies to get involved, act and commit to improving coexistence and positive conflict management.
Its main functions are:
- Observe facts that may lead to situations of harassment.
- Be attentive to colleagues who need help, because they feel insecure, excluded, threatened or assaulted.
- Intervene in situations that are considered mild or moderate.
- Derive situations that are considered serious.
As you can see, the #AquíProuBullying program works to create a transversal and community front against school bullying. If everyone knows how to spot the signs and how to act in case of conflict, eradicating school bullying is much easier. Difference enriches us, respect unites us.
