Skating
The practice of skating in its various branches offers all the advantages of sports practice, but it is in figure skating in particular that the technique (strength, elasticity, body control, precision, speed, safety, quality and variety of the difficulties), the art and beauty of the music and costumes, the dance and the originality of the program or choreographic routine.
This makes figure skating something more than just a sport. To the correct technical execution of figures, jumps, turns and footwork, is added the harmonization of the movements with the music, in time, rhythm and character (artistic impression).
Skating is a sport that helps develop balance and body harmony through movements and exercises.
The La Salle Gràcia Sports Club offers this sport discipline at different levels. In the introductory courses, boys and girls from the age of six become familiar with moving on skates and work on the technical elements of the sport on wheels. The aim of the process is for the little ones to learn basic movement skills on skates from familiarization with this new element and making basic movements in different directions, changes of direction and the fundamentals of making basic figure skating figures.
In the advanced courses, our goal is to train complete skaters, with control over skating techniques structured in levels (forwards, backwards, turns, brakes, skids, changes of direction, jumps, obstacles, etc.).
In recent years, the level of our technical team, the dedication of the skaters and the efforts of the club members are paying off and our athletes have been getting more and more prizes and trophies in different competitions.
In the sporting field, the Club promotes an organization based on the group of coaches who make up the club’s coaching staff, a team structure and a competition calendar that guarantee the level of progression of all the athletes who integrate the project.
